Lugano gears up to host women’s European qualifier

Lugano, Switzerland,
May 14, 2014. After hosting matches of the 2014 CEV DenizBank Volleyball
Champions League, the Resega ice arena in Lugano will re-open its doors to
world-class Volleyball starting on Friday evening. Switzerland women’s national
team will indeed play at home the first of two round robin tournaments on
schedule for the second round of qualifications for the 2015 CEV Volleyball
European Championship.

The Swiss ladies who
performed strong at last year’s home European Championship in Zurich will play
the national teams of Poland and Ukraine plus Latvia who came out as second
ranked team of the first-round qualifier starring Georgia, Latvia, Norway and
Sweden which was slated for May 9-11 in Halmstad, Sweden.

Lugano will host the
first of two round robin tournaments on May 16-18 before the quest for a ticket
to the Final Round scheduled for September 2015 in the Netherlands and Belgium
will continue on May 23-25 at Hala Lucniczka in Bydgoszcz, Poland. The team
topping the charts at the end of these tournaments will book a ticket to the
Finals while the second-placed will have one last chance to make it there via
the third round of qualifications scheduled for late May 2015.

The organisers of the
tournament taking place at the Resega ice arena have designed a special website
to promote the event:
www.eurovolleylugano2014.ch where
plenty of information is available for fans and media alike.

Tickets to follow the
matches scheduled for May 16-18 are now on sale
here.

A few different
options are available. Volleyball fans can buy tickets to attend all six
matches coming up throughout the weekend or daily tickets – valid for two
