Mini Beach-Volleyball back underway at Montreux Masters

Montreux, Switzerland, September 5, 2018- As is customary at the Montreux Volley Masters, tournament organisers encourage the local community to get involved in the Volleyball festival with a Mini Beach-Volleyball competition, taking place on the ‘Pierrier Plage’ (sand and grass) in Clarens, just next to the main Salle Omnisports du Pierrier venue.

The competition, now making its 29th appearance at the Montreux showpiece, is now running, having started on Tuesday September 4 to continue right through until Friday September 7, from 13:00 CET to 16:30 CET every day. Members of the host Swiss Volleyball Team and others will be present at the mini venue to interact with supporters.

School teams or clubs can participate for a generous price of just CHF 10.- per team. Every participant will receive tickets for Montreux Masters matches and a mystery prize.

For years this initiative has been played out to encourage the local community to get involved in the game, fostering the values of discovery, the pleasure of playing sport outdoors, and the educational side of the game of Volleyball. It also offers the opportunity for the next generation of keen youngsters to meet and engage with their heroes.

The mini-volley competition will still go ahead even in the case of adverse weather. A back-up solution is ready for implementation if necessary.

Registration has now expired to participate in the mini-tournament, but do not let that discourage you! Head down to the venue to join in all the fun by either watching the games or taking the chance to meet some of the world’s best Volleyball players; an experience that won’t disappoint!
