The "lions" from Cameroon are read for the Montreux Masters 2018!

 

Montreux, Switzerland, August 10th - Montreux Volley Masters debutants Cameroon are one of the rising Volleyball nations in the women’s game. In recent years, the team from West Africa has celebrated a string of successes. After making their first-ever appearance at Olympic Games in 2016, Cameroon celebrated their big debut in the FIVB Volleyball World Grand Prix and made Volleyball history with their first-ever title at the Women’s African Volleyball Championship. 
As a consequence, the Cameroonians booked their tickets to their third FIVB Volleyball Women’s World Championship in Japan from September 29 to October 20.





And the squad from Cameroon are poised to earn their spurs against the titans of international women’s Volleyball. In order to learn from the best many of the veterans in Jean René Akono’s roster tried their luck in European leagues. So did Captain Christelle Tchoudjang, Stepahnie Fotso Mogoung, Abdoulkarim Fawziya. The three veterans have proved themselves in the roster of French side VBC Chamalières in the “Lige A Féminine”, the highest league in France. Aspiring youngsters like Raissa Nasser and Laetitia Crescence Moma Bassoko have followed in the footsteps of their compatriotes and are earning their stripes in French leagues.

The Cameroonians will leave nothing to chance for their big debut at the Montreux Volley Masters as they will gear up for the challenges at the most prestigious invitational tournament in women’s Volleyball as well as the FIVB Volleyball Women’s World Championship in a trainings camp in France from July to September. Cameroon are willing to do everything in their power to challenge the titans of international women’s Volleyball.
