Dutch women take four fresh faces to Montreux

Montreux, Switzerland, May 29, 2016 – Netherlands coach Giovanni Guidetti announces rotations in his team roster for the 31st Montreux
Volley Masters.

On Monday 30th June, the Dutch Women's Volleyball Team will travel out to Switzerland to compete in the 2016 edition of the Montreux Volley Masters tournament. Remarkably, Laura Dijkema, Lonneke Sloetjes, Debby Stam-Pilon and Maret Balkestein-Grothues are set to be rested and won’t make the trip to Switzerland. They will be deputised in Montreux by the young and aspiring quartet of Britt Bongaerts, Tessa Polder, Celia Diemkoudre and Nicole Oude Luttikhuis.

The “Oranje” also took part in last year’s Montreux Volley Masters, taking home the bronze medal in a fruitful campaign after easing past Russia 3-0 in the third-place playoff match.
In this year’s pool phase, under the tenure of national coach Giovanni Guidetti, the Netherlands will face-off against host nation Switzerland, Thailand and Serbia. A first or second place finish in the group will be enough to see them secure a semi-final berth.

Of the four new players included in the roster, only Nicole Oude Luttikhuis has donned the Oranje jersey before.  Britt Bongaerts, Tessa Polder and Celia Diemkoudre are all yet to appear for the Netherlands and will make their bow for the national team in Switzerland.

The fixtures in Montreux will be broadcast live on www.laola1.tv.
